9.5% of Bronzeville Academy Charter School students met or exceeded ELA IAR expectations on tests in 2022-23 school year

In the 2022-23 school year, 9.5% of the students in Bronzeville Academy Charter School passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 243 students in Bronzeville Academy Charter School who took the ELA portion of the test, approximately 23 (9.5%) passed.

The percentage of Bronzeville Academy Charter School students who met or exceeded expectations on the IAR increased by 1.4% compared to the previous school year.

Bronzeville Academy Charter School roughly covers one school within Cook County and has a main office in Chicago.

The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assesses the progress of students in grades 3-8 in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics.

According to the 2024 Illinois Report Card, math proficiency among Illinois students in grades 3-8 remains below pre-pandemic levels, while reading performance has recovered. Meanwhile, 11th graders have experienced significant declines in both subjects, falling below pre-pandemic benchmarks.
