The Chicago Red Stars have announced their roster updates following the conclusion of the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. The team will enter the offseason with 22 players under contract, including new signings Maitane López and Halle Mackiewicz. Both contracts are effective January 1, 2025, with López joining through 2026 and Mackiewicz on a one-year deal through 2025.

Defender Camryn Biegalski will return to Chicago for the 2025 season after signing a one-year extension. Biegalski began her career with the Red Stars in the second round of the 2020 NWSL Draft. After playing for Washington Spirit from 2021-2023, where she won the 2021 NWSL Championship, she returned to Chicago in 2024.

Portuguese forward Nádia Gomes has re-signed with the Red Stars on a short-term contract through March 25, 2025. Gomes appeared in 12 matches for Chicago in 2024. Meanwhile, negotiations are ongoing with forward Sarah Griffith, who is now a free agent after her option was not exercised for 2025.

Rosella Ayane has returned to Tottenham Hotspur following her loan spell with the Red Stars. Additionally, options were not exercised on several players' contracts: goalkeeper Sydney Schneider; defenders Tatumn Milazzo and Maximiliane Rall; rookie forward Ally Cook; and midfielders Julia Bianchi and Sophie Jones. These players are now free agents.

The current roster consists of 20 active players and two on the season-ending injury list as they prepare for the upcoming season starting in January. Fans can learn more about season ticket memberships at chicagoredstars.com/season-tickets.
