Magellan has announced Angel Reese as the Chicago Sky's 2024 Player of the Year. Reese, a rookie drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in 2024, had an impressive season that included record-breaking performances and significant milestones.

Reese, who played college basketball at LSU, made her debut with the Chicago Sky on May 15. In her first game, she scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Throughout the season, she consistently delivered strong performances and set new records in rebounding.

"Angel Reese had a historic rookie season after being selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft," noted Magellan. She achieved an average of 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Her rebounding prowess was particularly notable as she finished with a league-record average of 13.1 boards per game and became the fastest player to reach 400 rebounds in WNBA history.

Reese's achievements include topping the all-time offensive rebounding list with 172 rebounds and setting a new record for consecutive double-doubles with a streak of 26 games. Her double-double streak began on June 4 against New York and lasted until July 11, during which she averaged over 15 points and 13 rebounds per game.

After returning from the All-Star/Olympic break, Reese became the first player in WNBA history to have three consecutive games with at least 20 rebounds each. This stretch included her career-high performance of grabbing 22 rebounds against Las Vegas on August 25.

Reese concluded her remarkable rookie season with standout performances including scoring over twenty points multiple times and achieving more than nineteen rebounds in several games.
