The Chicago Sky has announced that Courtney Paris, a former WNBA player and college basketball standout, will join Head Coach Tyler Marsh's staff as an assistant coach. Paris expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the organization. “I am deeply honored and grateful to Jeff and Tyler for the opportunity to join the Chicago Sky organization,” she said. Paris is inspired by Marsh's vision and leadership and looks forward to contributing to the team's success.
Paris brings extensive experience from her 11-season career in the WNBA, where she played for teams including the Sacramento Monarchs, Tulsa Shock, Dallas Wings, and Seattle Storm, with whom she won a championship in 2018. She also received accolades such as the WNBA Peak Performer award in rebounds (2014, 2015) and the WNBA Community Assist Award in August 2009. Additionally, Paris played nine seasons overseas.
Head Coach Tyler Marsh expressed enthusiasm about Paris joining his team: “We are extremely excited to have Courtney join our staff here in Chicago. She brings a decade of WNBA experience as a player and as a coach that will surely benefit our players.”
Paris had an impressive collegiate career at Oklahoma from 2005-09, setting numerous records including becoming the first player ever to achieve 2,500 career points and 2,000 career rebounds. She holds NCAA records such as consecutive double-doubles at 112 games.
Before joining the Sky, Paris served as an assistant coach for the Dallas Wings under Latricia Trammell from 2023-24 and was on the coaching staff at Oklahoma from 2020-21.
The Chicago Sky will start their regular season on May 17 against Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
