Chicago Fire FC has announced the addition of three new members to its sporting leadership team. Darcy Norman will serve as Director of Performance, Eddie Rock takes on the role of Head of Strategy, and Zayne M. Thomajan becomes General Manager. These positions will report directly to Gregg Berhalter, who is both the Director of Football and Head Coach.
Gregg Berhalter expressed his enthusiasm about the appointments, stating, "I’m very excited to welcome Zayne and Darcy to the Fire and to see Eddie transition into this new position." He emphasized that these moves are aimed at establishing a strong leadership team for the 2025 MLS season.
Darcy Norman will be responsible for overseeing medical services, physical performance, nutrition, and sports psychology across various teams within Chicago Fire FC. Norman commented on his new role by saying, “It’s clear that the Chicago Fire has the ambition and vision to become one of the most successful organizations in the league."
Eddie Rock's responsibilities as Head of Strategy include developing a strategic plan and managing an analytics team. Reflecting on his journey with Chicago Fire FC since 2017, Rock said, “Joining the Fire in 2017 was a dream come true.”
Zayne M. Thomajan will oversee daily operations within the Football department as General Manager. She expressed her excitement about joining Chicago Fire FC: “I could not be more thrilled to join the Fire."
The team's 2025 regular season is set to begin with an away match against Columbus Crew on February 22nd. The home opener against D.C. United is scheduled for March 1st at Soldier Field.
