Chicago Fire announces preseason schedule ahead of MLS regular season

Chicago Fire FC has released its preseason schedule in preparation for the 2025 Major League Soccer season. The team will commence activities with player medical evaluations on January 11, followed by a training camp at the Intentional Sports Complex starting January 13.

The initial phase of training in Chicago will last three days before the team relocates to West Palm Beach, Florida, from January 16 to 26. In Florida, they will train at Palm Beach Gardens and compete in two closed-door matches against Brazilian club Fortaleza on January 19 and Sporting Kansas City on January 25.

Upon returning to Chicago on January 26, the team will continue training until February 1 before heading to California for the Coachella Valley Invitational from February 2 to 15. During this tournament, Chicago Fire FC is scheduled to play against LAFC, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, and LA Galaxy.

The team's participation in the Coachella Valley Invitational begins with a match against LAFC on February 5. Subsequent games include Portland Timbers on February 8, San Jose Earthquakes on February 12, and LA Galaxy on February 15.

Following their preseason activities, Chicago Fire FC's regular season will start with an away game against Columbus Crew on February 22. The home opener is set for March 1 against D.C. United at Soldier Field. This match marks the earliest home opener in the club's history.

"Chicago’s 2025 regular season...will begin on the road against the Columbus Crew at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Lower.com Field," according to Chicago Fire FC Communications.
