Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer have announced that midfielder Sergio Oregel Jr. has been selected for the U.S. U-20 Men’s Youth National Team's upcoming training camp. The camp will take place from January 10 to 19 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
This marks the fifth training camp for Oregel Jr. under the guidance of U-20 USMNYNT head coach Marko Mitrović as the team prepares for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. During this period, the squad will train with the senior U.S. Men’s National Team and participate in a scrimmage against Nashville SC on January 18.
Oregel Jr.'s recent involvement with the team includes an international training camp held in Santiago, Chile, last October. In those matches against Chile, he played 18 minutes in a 3-1 victory on October 12 and completed a full match during a 2-1 loss on October 15.
The Chicago Fire's regular season is set to begin away at Columbus Crew on February 22 at Lower.com Field. Following this, they will host D.C. United at Soldier Field on March 1, marking their earliest home opener in history.
