Chicago Fire FC has announced the acquisition of midfielder Rominigue Kouamé on loan from Spanish club Cádiz CF for the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. The deal includes an option to purchase. Kouamé will fill an international roster spot, pending his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate. The club did not disclose additional terms of the agreement.

Kouamé expressed enthusiasm about joining Chicago Fire FC: "I'm excited to join the Fire and be part of this ambitious project. The 28-year-old midfielder has played in 218 matches across various competitions in Africa and Europe, including stints in Ligue 1, La Liga, and Belgium's Pro League. He began his professional career at AS Real Bamako in Mali before moving to Europe in 2016.
In France, Kouamé played for LOSC Lille, Paris FC, ESTAC Troyes, and had a loan spell at Cercle Brugge in Belgium. At Troyes, he appeared over 100 times with five goals and seven assists as a midfielder.
After eight years in France, Kouamé signed with Cádiz CF where he made his La Liga debut against Real Betis on September 23, 2023. He has participated in 31 matches for Cádiz across La Liga, Copa del Rey, and LaLiga2.
Born in Ivory Coast with Malian descent, Kouamé represents Mali internationally with 11 caps under his belt including appearances in FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
