Mike Quigley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 5th district since 2009, recently expressed his views on various national issues through a series of tweets. These tweets addressed topics ranging from cancer prevention to public health infrastructure and national security.

On February 4, 2025, Quigley highlighted his commitment to combating cancer by working in Congress to "invest in cancer prevention, research, and care." He emphasized the importance of finding cures for cancer and saving lives. "This World Cancer Day, I am working in Congress to invest in cancer prevention, research, and care. We must do all that we can to find cures for cancer and save lives."

Later that day, Quigley commented on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's decision to restore some pages and datasets. He criticized former President Trump's impact on public health infrastructure as "dangerous and unacceptable," stating that these resources should not have been deleted initially. "I'm happy to see that the CDC is restoring some of its pages and datasets, but they shouldn't have been deleted to begin with. President Trump's wrecking ball demolition of our public health infrastructure is dangerous and unacceptable."

On February 5, 2025, Quigley referred to comments made by former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis regarding funding for the State Department. He condemned what he described as an unlawful decision by Elon Musk—supported by Trump—to close USAID operations, arguing it jeopardizes both national and international security. "Trump's first Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said 'If you don't fully fund the State Department, please buy a little more ammunition for me because I'm going to need it.' Musk's unlawful decision, supported by Trump, to shutter USAID compromises national and international security."
