Mike Quigley, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 5th district since 2009, has been vocal on several public health and education issues through his social media posts. Quigley, who succeeded Rahm Emanuel in Congress and previously served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, has expressed concerns over various policy matters.

On February 5, 2025, Quigley criticized RFK Jr.'s stance on vaccines. He stated that "RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine efforts have caused significant harm to our nation's health over the years. Vaccines are one of our most important public health tools for controlling and even eradicating disease. RFK Jr. is not qualified to be HHS Secretary."

Later that day, Quigley addressed educational concerns by discussing President Trump's intentions regarding the Department of Education. He mentioned his meetings with educational institutions across Illinois to discuss these threats: "I spent this week meeting with schools and universities from across Illinois to discuss President Trump's threat to illegally eliminate the Department of Education. Our students deserve a quality education, not uncertainty of whether there will be funding next week."

On February 6, 2025, Quigley commented on actions taken by Donald Trump concerning contraception information on the CDC website while highlighting Democratic efforts to protect contraceptive rights: "Donald Trump spent his week scrubbing contraception prescription information off the CDC website. 200 House Democrats spent ours reintroducing the Right to Contraception Act. Proud to stand with the Reproductive Caucus and for your right to the birth control method of your choice."
