Mike Quigley, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 5th district, took to social media to address local weather conditions and international political issues. Quigley, who has served in Congress since 2009 after succeeding Rahm Emanuel, shared information relevant to his constituents and broader geopolitical concerns.

On February 12, 2025, Mike Quigley advised residents of Chicago about the onset of snow and falling temperatures in the city. He urged people to "exercise caution and stay safe" during the adverse weather conditions. "Snow and temperatures are already starting to fall in Chicago - please exercise caution and stay safe, Chicago!"

Later on the same day, he provided a helpful resource for those affected by the cold weather. Quigley mentioned that the city of Chicago had a map available showing locations of warming centers for those needing shelter from the cold. "If you or your neighbors are in need of a warm place to go today, the city of Chicago has a map of warming centers around the city: https://t.co/r4rP8MnYOL"

On February 14, 2025, Quigley addressed an international issue by joining 145 colleagues in sending a letter to President Trump. The letter condemned Trump's remarks about having the U.S. "own" Gaza and emphasized the importance of focusing on creating lasting peace rather than displacing Palestinians living there. "This week, I joined 145 of my colleagues in sending a letter to President Trump condemning his reckless remarks calling for the U.S. to 'own' Gaza. He should focus on creating a lasting peace in the region, not permanently displacing over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza."
