Chicago Fire FC has announced the signing of midfielders Harold Osorio and Sam Williams from Chicago Fire FC II on short-term loan agreements. The players will be available for the team's MLS regular season opener against Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
The match will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV and locally in English on WLS 890 AM and in Spanish on Que Buena 105.1 FM through the Uforia App.
Both Osorio and Williams participated in Chicago Fire's preseason camps, traveling to West Palm Beach where they played against Fortaleza and Sporting Kansas City. They also competed against LAFC, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes at the Coachella Valley Invitational, and a closed-door scrimmage with Las Vegas Lights FC.
Osorio joined Chicago Fire II in August 2022 from Alianza Fútbol Club in El Salvador’s Primera División. He has played 33 matches across all competitions for Chicago Fire II, scoring nine goals as a midfielder in 2024.
Williams signed with Chicago Fire II in January 2025 after playing for the University of North Carolina. Previously part of New York Red Bulls Academy, he became the first graduate to reach 2,000 minutes for New York Red Bulls II during the USL Championship regular season as a teenager.
This marks the first short-term agreement for both players under MLS rules allowing clubs to sign players from affiliates to up to four short-term agreements each season. An individual player can appear in no more than two MLS regular season matches but may participate in any number of non-league games during these terms.
