Mike Quigley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 5th district since 2009, has shared his views on various national issues through a series of tweets. Quigley, who succeeded Rahm Emanuel in Congress and previously served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, expressed concerns over border security, foreign aid programs, and veterans' employment.

On March 5, 2025, Quigley tweeted about border security: "We can both secure our borders - ensuring that violent criminals are removed from the country - AND welcome those seeking a better life in the United States. It's not one or the other."

In another tweet on the same day, he criticized past policy decisions regarding foreign aid: "The Trump Administration gutted foreign aid programs and the consequences are devastating. American farmers are losing their livelihoods, a million children are at risk of malnutrition, and diseases like polio and malaria will spread."

Later that day, Quigley addressed issues related to veterans' employment under previous administrations: "Trump says he wants to help our servicemembers but he fired 6,000 veterans from federal jobs and more than 2,400 employees at the VA who help serve our veterans."
