Chicago Fire FC forward Hugo Cuypers has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 3. This recognition follows his contribution to the team's 3-1 victory over FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. During the match, Cuypers scored a goal and provided an assist.

Cuypers' recent performance marked his second consecutive weekly league honor. He scored his third goal of the season by converting a penalty in the 89th minute, sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction with his finish.

In addition to scoring, Cuypers was instrumental in Chicago's first two goals. He assisted Andrew Gutman's opening goal after a series of passes involving Leonardo Barroso and Sergio Oregel Jr. For Chicago's second goal, Cuypers set up Brian Gutiérrez for a shot that was saved by Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes but rebounded to Barroso, who scored his first professional goal.

This is Cuypers' second consecutive appearance on the MLS Team of the Matchday, having previously been recognized for his two-goal performance against D.C. United. His overall third appearance came after a standout performance on Matchday 24 last year when he scored twice against Philadelphia Union.

Looking ahead, Chicago Fire FC will continue their road trip with a match against Toronto FC on March 15 at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada. The game will be available globally on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV and locally through wlsam.com and Que Buena 105.1.
