Chicago Fire FC has announced that winger Omari Glasgow has been selected to join the Guyana National Team for two CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification matches. The team will first face Guatemala on March 21 at Wildey Turf Stadium in Barbados, followed by a match on March 25 at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City.
Glasgow joined Chicago Fire FC after playing with Chicago Fire II since 2022. During his time with the second team, he made 62 appearances, starting in 58 of them, and scored 15 goals while providing 13 assists. In the previous season, he appeared three times for the main squad under Short-Term Agreements during both the MLS Regular Season and Leagues Cup.
In the current year, Glasgow has participated in all four of Chicago's MLS regular season games. He started against FC Dallas on March 8 and came off the bench against Columbus, D.C. United, and Toronto FC.
The 21-year-old is Guyana's top goal scorer with 20 goals in 29 international appearances. His international experience includes participation in CONCACAF Nations League A and B, Gold Cup qualifying matches, FIFA World Cup qualifiers, and several friendlies. He debuted internationally on March 30, 2021.
In early 2024, Glasgow was recognized as the CONCACAF Nations League Young Player of the Tournament and earned Top Scorer honors with seven goals over five games—making him both the first Guyanese player to receive this award and its youngest recipient at age 20.
