Chicago Fire FC's winger Philip Zinckernagel and head coach Gregg Berhalter have been selected for the MLS Team of the Matchday following the team's 3-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Zinckernagel's inclusion marks a historic moment for the club, as he becomes the first player in Chicago Fire history to appear in five consecutive Teams of the Matchday as a starter.

Zinckernagel earned his spot by scoring his first goal for Chicago, which proved to be the game-winner. He also assisted forward Hugo Cuypers in scoring just 52 seconds into the match. This is Zinckernagel's first appearance on the MLS Team of the Matchday.

Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has been named Coach for the MLS Team of the Matchday after leading Chicago to three consecutive road victories, a feat not achieved since 2009. Berhalter is familiar with this honor, having been recognized eight times previously while with Columbus Crew. His tactical substitutions against Vancouver paid off when newcomer Rominigue Kouamé scored shortly after entering the game.

The full lineup for Matchday 5 includes forwards Martín Ojeda (ORL), Kelvin Yeboah (MIN), and Philip Zinckernagel (CHI). Midfielders are Evander (CIN), Emil Forsberg (RBNY), Owen Wolff (ATX), and Pep Biel (CLT). Defenders are Walker Zimmerman (NSH), Aaron Long (LAFC), and Alex Freeman (ORL). The goalkeeper is Matt Freese (NYC) with Gregg Berhalter as coach.

The bench features Hugo Lloris (LAFC), Ian Glavinovich (PHI), Emiro Garcés (LA), Ashley Westwood (CLT), Luciano Acosta (DAL), Jonathan Pérez (NSH), Antony (POR), Saba Lobjanidze (ATL), and Luis Muriel (ORL).

Chicago will next play against CF Montréal at Soldier Field on March 29, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. CT. The match will be available globally on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV and locally on wlsam.com and Que Buena Fire through the Uforia app.
