Chicago Fire FC is set to conclude a two-match homestand against FC Cincinnati this Saturday night at Soldier Field. The team aims to maintain its three-game unbeaten streak against the visitors and build upon its best season start since 2012. The match will be globally broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, with local broadcasts in English on WLS 890 AM and wlsam.com, and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.
"Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named the following Starting XI to earn the Club’s 90th regular season victory at Soldier Field."
The lineup remains unchanged from the team that secured its first clean sheet of the season against Inter Miami CF. Goalkeeper Chris Brady will again take the field, marking his ninth appearance of the year. Brady, who is a Homegrown player, made three critical saves in the previous shutout, including stops against Inter Miami's Lionel Messi, and is seeking his 21st MLS career win.
Omari Glasgow continues in the right back position for the second consecutive match, replacing Leonardo Barroso who is sidelined with a lower body injury. Central defenders Jack Elliott and Carlos Terán will begin their third match together this season. Elliott will captain the team, directing a defense that includes Andrew Gutman, who marks his ninth start this season.
The mid-field lineup of Homegrown players Brian Gutiérrez, Sergio Oregel, Jr., and Mauricio Pineda remains intact for the third time this season. Pineda is set for a record 106th start for Chicago, with Gutiérrez following closely behind with 85 starts. Oregel, Jr. has maintained a perfect start rate this season, with this marking his ninth consecutive game.
Jonathan Bamba, Hugo Cuypers, and Philip Zinckernagel form the forward line for the eighth time this season. Both Bamba and Cuypers have started every match this year, while Zinckernagel records his eighth start.
Unavailable for the game due to injuries are defender Chase Gasper, and midfielders Rominigue Kouamé and David Poreba all with lower body injuries. Chris Mueller will also be absent, though not due to injury. The bench features goalkeeper Jeff Gal, defenders Sam Rogers, Jonathan Dean, Omar González, and Justin Reynolds; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Kellyn Acosta, and Dje D’Avilla; and forward Tom Barlow.
