Chicago Fire FC and Atlanta United FC ended their match in a 2-2 draw at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Philip Zinckernagel scored his 10th goal of the season for Chicago, giving them an early lead. Zinckernagel also assisted Maren Haile-Selassie's second goal of the campaign.
Atlanta equalized in the second half with a goal from Alexey Miranchuk, set up by Miguel Almirón. Haile-Selassie restored Chicago's lead in the 79th minute, but Atlanta's Will Reilly scored during stoppage time to level the game again.
The draw marked Chicago Fire FC's first point at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in eight regular-season matches. They last won there during the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 in June 2018.
