Chicago Fire FC will host LAFC at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, on Saturday, August 9. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast globally through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Local radio coverage will be available in English on WLS 890 AM and wlsam.com, and in Spanish via Que Buena Fire on the Uforia App.

The team returns after a week off, following their tenth win of the season. Chicago aims for its third consecutive shutout for the first time since 2023. Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has named an unchanged Starting XI from the lineup that secured a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on July 26 at Soldier Field.

Goalkeeper Chris Brady will make his 19th start this season as he seeks his third straight clean sheet. If successful, he would match his clean sheet total from last year and surpass his previous season’s win record. Leonardo Barroso is set for his 15th appearance at right back, with Andrew Gutman maintaining perfect attendance with his 25th start at left back. Center backs Carlos Terán and captain Jack Elliott continue their partnership; Elliott has been recognized in the MLS Team of the Matchday for two consecutive weeks.

Midfielder Dje D’Avilla starts for the third time in four matches and joins Homegrown players Brian Gutiérrez (20 appearances) and Sergio Oregel Jr. (22 appearances) in midfield. Forward Hugo Cuypers, who scored his fifth game-winning goal against New York, starts again as he looks to add to his tally of 14 goals this season. He is joined by Jonathan Bamba and Philip Zinckernagel on the wings; Zinckernagel seeks his 21st goal contribution this year.

Unavailable due to lower body injuries are defender Sam Rogers and midfielders Rominigue Kouamé and David Poreba. Options from the bench include goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Jonathan Dean and Omar González; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Mauricio Pineda, Kellyn Acosta, Sam Williams, Trip Fleming; and forward Tom Barlow.
