Cook County Sheriff's Office has recently reported several law enforcement activities through its official Twitter account, including arrests following a traffic stop, a roadside safety checkpoint in partnership with another police department, and the apprehension of a fugitive wanted on out-of-state charges.
On August 19, 2025, the Cook County Sheriff's Police Community Safety Team (CST) arrested five individuals after a traffic stop in Chicago's River North. Two days later, on August 21, the department announced efforts to improve road safety through collaborative initiatives. According to their tweet: "Cook County Sheriff’s Police in partnership with the Bridgeview Police Department conducted a roadside safety checkpoint last week in Bridgeview. Most recently, on August 22, the Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Unit worked alongside federal partners to apprehend an individual wanted by authorities in another state. The post reads: " FUGITIVE FOUND Recently, the Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force, arrested 43-year-old Joshua M. Wilson on a warrant from Pima County, Arizona for two counts of “Secretly View or Record Another Person https://t.co/198YKSHq0e".
The Cook County Sheriff's Office regularly collaborates with other law enforcement agencies such as municipal police departments and federal task forces to enhance public safety and address crime within and beyond county borders.
