Cook County Sheriff's Office posts weapons arrest and pediatric cancer awareness update

Cook County Sheriff's Office shared several updates and community initiatives on its official X account in late September 2025.

On September 29, the office posted an update to the public, stating, "Sheriff’s Office Update #CCSPD #CookCountySheriff #communityengagement https://t.co/RM8YQQm6kU".

The following day, the Cook County Sheriff's Office announced charges against a Sauk Village resident. According to their September 30 post, "A 29-year-old Sauk Village man has been charged with weapons violation after Sheriff’s police recovered a firearm and rounds of ammunition from his vehicle. At approximately 10:25 p.m. on Sept. 22, Sheriff’s Police patrol officers pulled over a black Buick for expired https://t.co/RyLX2RlQFx".

Also on September 30, the department highlighted its participation in Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, writing, "Today, September 30, marks the end of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The Cook County Sheriff's Office has proudly worn gold ribbons on their chest, donated by @CalsAngels Pediatric Cancer Foundation. We fight together.
