The following day, the Cook County Sheriff's Office announced charges against a Sauk Village resident. According to their September 30 post, "A 29-year-old Sauk Village man has been charged with weapons violation after Sheriff’s police recovered a firearm and rounds of ammunition from his vehicle. Also on September 30, the department highlighted its participation in Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, writing, "Today, September 30, marks the end of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
