Christopher W. Cauley named executive director at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center

Daniel S. Zomchek, Network Director of the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 12, has announced that Christopher W. Cauley will become the new Executive Director of Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago. Cauley’s appointment will take effect on November 16, 2025.

Cauley brings experience from his recent role as Medical Center Director at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, where he managed a $650 million annual budget and led more than 2,400 employees. His career with the Department of Veterans Affairs began in 1995 as a Kinesiotherapist. He has also served as Medical Center Director at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw and as Associate Director at both the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and Aleda E. Lutz VAMC.

Cauley holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from Independence University and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is part of VISN 12, which includes medical facilities across Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The center provides primary care, specialized treatment, mental health support, and rehabilitation services to veterans.

The VA Great Lakes Health Care System (VISN 12) serves nearly 800,000 veterans through eight medical centers and numerous outpatient clinics across four states: Illinois, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana.
