Gathering feedback from local constituents, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker pulled up a chair to a recent roundtable event sponsored by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce focusing on supply chains, port commerce and stakeholders.

Pritzker joined the event as part of her nationwide  tour to gain perspective on local and regional chambers and provide data for a report planned later in the year.

Chamber member Todd Menotti, the senior director of international corporate affairs for Tyson Foods, hosted the function in Chicago. The meeting allowed Chamber members to share their victories and challenges encountered in moving commodities through the region.

Discussion centered on cargo flow, trade through supply chains, infrastructure investment needs and ways to improve the industry’s growth rate and job creation.

The Chicagoland Chamber is headquartered in the Wrigley Building at 410 N. Michigan Ave. It focuses on providing value and combining leadership with business advocacy to render the metropolitan area a “world-class place to live and work.”
