Chicago CityMayor's Office issued the following announcement on June 11.
"It is unconscionable that under the Trump administration this nation is turning its back on vulnerable women and children seeking shelter from abusive relationships. Those fleeing dangerous circumstances deserve our compassion and support as they make difficult life and death decisions. While Washington turns its back on immigrants and victims of domestic violence, Chicago will continue to find new ways to open our doors and expand our resources for survivors.”
