The campaign committee of state representative candidate Ann Williams, Friends of Ann M Williams, returned a $500 contribution from AETNA, Inc. on Jan. 15, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. AETNA, Inc. has not made any other contributions to Ann Williams in the past 12 months.
