The following action was taken on Feb. 26 in the House on House bill HB2928 ("$state appellate defend-grant"): "Assigned to Appropriations-Public Safety Committee."

The bill, as it was introduced in the House by Rep. Justin Slaughter (D-27) on Feb. 14, "appropriates $3,500,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the State Appellate Defender for a grant program to assist counties in providing public defenders to implement bail reform provisions of Public Act 100-1" and "effective July 1, 2019," according to the General Assembly website.
