In line with national anti-terrorism public awareness campaigns such as "If You See Something Say Something™", city officials urge residents and visitors to report any suspicious activity they observe during the event to onsite security or call 9-1-1.
For additional public safety information and emergency alerts including weather updates, residents and visitors are encouraged to download the Chicago OEMC App available through Apple App and Google Play stores or visit Chicago.gov/OEMC.
The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) will monitor events in collaboration with public safety partners and issue any necessary alerts or notifications to keep residents informed about weather conditions or emergencies. To receive these updates directly, sign up for NotifyChicago alerts at NotifyChicago.org.
Lastly, for public safety purposes along the lakefront, residents and visitors are reminded to take note of the numbers attached to light poles throughout Grant Park and along the lakefront. These green signs with white letters and numbers serve as location identifiers, helping individuals communicate their location to friends, family, and first responders when calling 9-1-1.
