Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 6.
The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce has officially renamed its popular annual business golf event in honor of its late President and CEO, Jerry Roper. The golf outing was Jerry’s favorite Chamber event because he enjoyed the special comradery that golf inspires, the laughter this sometimes maddening sport provokes. It is only fitting to rename this event to celebrate and remember always this superb leader and passionate advocate, whose boundless energy, keen commitment, and tireless work contributed mightily to the strength and vibrancy of the business climate and economic future of Chicagoland.
Registration and lunch begin at 11:00 AM and the practice range will also be open prior to the scramble's shotgun start at 12:30 PM. After a day on the course, enjoy a buffet dinner and drinks at the Awards Reception starting at 6:00 PM. Fabulous gifts, prizes and awards are sure to make this event a "hole-in-one".
