DePaul women's soccer forward Susie Soderstrom was featured on the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. The honor roll is sent out every Monday of the season, highlighting various players for their athletic performance each week. The BIG EAST mentioned Soderstrom's name for scoring her first career goal on the road against UIC on Thursday, August 25, securing the victory for the Blue Demons.
Altogether, Susie accumulated a total of three shots during last week's matches against UIC and Iowa. All three of the sophomore's shots were on goal. During her freshman career, Susie generated eight shots with four on goal.
At the beginning of Thursday's game versus UIC, the Blue Demons took control of the field early on. Soderstrom took a shot within the first two minutes of the game. However, it wasn't until the 50th minute that Soderstrom connected. Junior defender Grace Phillpotts assisted the goal by crossing the ball to Soderstrom in the box. Soderstrom seized the opportunity and headed the ball into the back of the net, clinching the win for DePaul. This will be Soderstrom's first career recognition on the BIG EAST honor roll.
The Blue Demons are scheduled to host Northwestern on Thursday, September 1, at 4 p.m. The game will also be streamed on FloSports.
