The Chicago State men's basketball team completed an undefeated home schedule with a 75-53 victory over Hartford Sunday afternoon at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago. The Cougars trailed by a point at the half but outscored the Hawks 41-18 in the second half to complete an 8-0 home record this season. The Cougars home win streak is now nine games dating back to an upset home win over New Mexico State on February 26, 2022, and surpassed CSU's last eight-game home win streak which was established across two seasons, when the 2008-09 Cougars won five in a row to finish the season and the 2009-10 team won its first three for an eight-game home-win streak.

CSU's Elijah Weaver was honored before the game as the lone senior on the roster. He was one of five players in double figures with 10 points and he led all players with nine assists. Jahsean Corbett was one of five Cougars in double figures and led all players with 23 points, followed by Teshaundre Cole with 14, Bryce Johnson with 13 and Wesley Cardet with 11.

The Cougars led for all but 28 seconds in the first half and but trailed at the half when Hartford hit a three at the buzzer. Hartford hung around on the strength of three-point shooting, hitting 67 percent in the first half (8-of-12) while CSU struggled from distance, only converting 4-of-15 (27 percent). The Cougars opened the scoring in the second half and regained the lead and Hartford answered with a layup and a three to move back out front, 40-38, with 17:27 remaining. At that point, Chicago State seized control and outscored Hartford 37-13 for the 22-point victory.

With the home schedule now in the rearview mirror, the Cougars will close out the season with a pair of road games, traveling to Spokane, Washington to face No. 13 Gonzaga on Wednesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. followed by a date at Fresno State to close the season, Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m. at the Save Mart Center in Fresno.
