Chicago’s Morning Answer host Dan Proft is celebrating the end of the Lori Lightfoot’s run as Chicago mayor.
Proft had been highly critical of Lightfoot’s reign on his AM 560 radio show.
“What's your political epitaph for Mayor Lori Lightfoot? I'll start: The schlong that sunk Chicago,” Proft said on Twitter.
Former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas made the runoff along with Cook County commissioner for the 1st District Brandon Johnson.
With 88% of votes counted, Vallas notched 164,610 votes worth 34.9% of the vote.
Johnson came in second with 96,260 votes, a 20.2%.
Lightfoot finished third with 78,865 votes at 16.6% of the vote.
Lightfoot is the first Chicago mayor to lose reelection since Jane Byrne in 1983. Byrne was the city’s first female mayor. She also held office for only a single term from 1979 to 1983.
As the race neared election day a large majority of Chicago residents reported they found Lighfoot deeply disfavorable.
