With the end of 2024 approaching, the Chicago Red Stars have highlighted their community engagement throughout the year. Building on initiatives from 2023, they expanded their reach in Chicagoland, fostering relationships with local organizations to ensure ongoing support for the community.
This year, the Red Stars increased their activities across Chicagoland by hosting more events and engaging with children in 25 neighborhoods, more than doubling their previous efforts. In collaboration with Wintrust, they also doubled the number of soccer camps and clinics offered, conducting 58 sessions to help local kids improve their skills. Additionally, they donated twice as many tickets to community partners and local youth groups, allowing over 5,000 young athletes to experience professional women's soccer.
The organization also focused on providing resources for young athletes through six equipment and merchandise donations. These contributions aimed to support continued athletic development among youth. With assistance from 39 community and program partners, including Wintrust, CDW, and Meijer, the Red Stars participated in 44 additional community events this year.
Looking ahead to 2025 under a new name – Chicago Stars FC – the club plans to maintain its commitment to supporting Chicago communities. They emphasize that a championship club relies not only on performance but also on community backing. The Red Stars encourage supporters to stay informed about their initiatives by subscribing to their Insider newsletter and following them on social media @chicagoredstars.
