Jan Schakowsky, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 9th district since 1999, has recently shared several updates via her social media platform. Schakowsky, who succeeded Sidney R. Yates and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives and on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, continues to engage with pressing national issues.

On December 9, 2024, Schakowsky expressed concern over what she described as an "auto safety crisis." She highlighted her receipt of the Senator Frank R. She extended gratitude to SafeRoadsNow for their leadership in this area and called for continued efforts to address these challenges. "We are facing an auto safety crisis."

She criticized the act for potentially overriding service members' decisions regarding their children's healthcare needs and announced her intention to vote against it. Emphasizing vulnerability among trans individuals and families, she advocated for ongoing protection against such legislative measures. "The House GOP's National Defense Authorization Act would override service members' decisions about the health care their kids need."

Later on December 11, 2024, Schakowsky commented on regulatory actions taken by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) concerning a merger between Kroger and Albertsons. She praised FTC Chair Lina Khan for preventing potential negative impacts on consumers and workers due to rising costs from this merger proposal. Schakowsky thanked Khan for standing up against corporate greed in defense of everyday Americans. "Attention all Kroger and Albertsons shoppers..."
