Jan Schakowsky, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 9th district, has expressed her views on several issues through recent social media posts. Schakowsky, who has been in office since 1999, took to X.com to address topics ranging from fiscal policy to environmental concerns and legislative initiatives for consumer protection.

On December 11, 2024, Schakowsky criticized the GOP's approach to fiscal policy. She stated, "The GOP created a fiscal crisis by giving tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy, and now they want to make devastating cuts to our vital programs." She emphasized the importance of maintaining programs like the Affordable Care Act and Social Security.

On December 12, 2024, Schakowsky addressed environmental issues related to the fashion industry. She highlighted concerns about corporate practices in a tweet: "Greedy fashion corporations continue to prioritize profits over protecting our environment and workers." Schakowsky noted that she and other members of the Slow Fashion Caucus are working towards sustainability in this sector.

Later that same day, Schakowsky shared her satisfaction with new regulations for auto safety whistleblowers. In her tweet, she stated: "I'm pleased that @NHTSAgov finalized a rule to safeguard auto safety whistleblowers." She also called for Congressional action on her proposed FTC Whistleblower Act aimed at extending protections across various industries.
