Chicago Fire FC's goalkeeper Chris Brady has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for his performance during Matchday 2. The recognition follows a game against D.C. United where Brady made five crucial saves, contributing to a 2-2 draw. Forward Hugo Cuypers was also acknowledged, earning a spot on the team's bench after scoring two goals in the same match.
Brady's selection marks his fourth appearance as starting goalkeeper in this weekly MLS honor. His performance included denying D.C. United several times, notably stopping a point-blank header from Dominique Badji and tipping over a half volley from Christian Benteke.
Cuypers' inclusion on the bench comes after he scored twice, both times capitalizing on corner kicks delivered by Philip Zinckernagel and deflected by Jack Elliott. This is Cuypers' second overall appearance in such honors, with his first being for a similar performance against Philadelphia Union in July 2024.
The Chicago team will continue their season with an upcoming road trip, facing FC Dallas on March 8 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with broadcasts available globally on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV and locally through wlsam.com and Que Buena 105.1.
