The Chicago Sky have announced new additions to their coaching and support staff ahead of the 2025 season. Head Coach Tyler Marsh will be joined by his father, Donnie Marsh, who is set to take on the role of basketball operations specialist. Donnie is a veteran collegiate basketball coach with a career that has spanned over four decades. He has previously worked in various collegiate programs, including Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Indiana, among others.
Reflecting on the appointment, Tyler Marsh said, "I’m so grateful to have my dad as part of my first coaching staff. He was my first coach who instilled in me a great passion for the game and a deep understanding of basketball fundamentals."
David Simon, a native of Illinois, will return in an elevated role as the director of player development. Simon, who has been with the organization since 2023, has a professional playing background overseas and is recognized for his career at Purdue Fort Wayne. Marsh expressed confidence in Simon's capabilities, stating, "David and Can have been with the Sky for years and understand how to prepare and set up our players for success here."
Can Ozbalkan will continue as the video coordinator, marking his fourth season with the Sky. He has been part of the organization since 2022 and also gathered experience as an assistant coach at Lake Forest College during the WNBA offseason.
The Chicago Sky are scheduled to start their 2025 regular season on May 17 against Indiana at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. They will also play three preseason games, including two against Minnesota and one against the Brazilian National Team.
