Rush University programs shine in 2024-25 U.S. News & World Report rankings

Rush University has once again been recognized as a leading institution by the U.S. News & World Report in its latest Best Graduate Schools rankings, showcasing various programs from its College of Nursing and College of Health Sciences.

The leadership at Rush University expressed pride in the institution's recognition. "I am extremely proud and impressed by the quality of all of our programs within Rush University,” stated Robert S.D. Higgins, the president and chief academic officer at Rush University. Higgins also referred to the rankings as a testament to the commitment and efforts of the faculty, staff, and students.

In particular, the College of Nursing was highlighted, with all its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) tracks ranked within the top five nationally. The DNP Leadership, Adult Gerontology Primary Care, and Pediatric Primary Care all ranked No. 2, while the Psychiatric Mental Health, Adult Gerontology Acute Care, and Family Nurse Practitioner ranked No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. Additionally, the college's Generalist Entry Master’s program was also ranked No. 34 in the U.S., and the nurse anesthesia program at No. 26 based on peer reviews.

Christine Kennedy, the dean of Rush University College of Nursing, commented on this recognition: “I am immensely proud that the college continues to be recognized for the exceptional strength of our educational programs."

The College of Health Sciences also received accolades, with its Health Systems Management program ranking No. 5. Other programs ranked include Audiology-Doctorate at No. 9, Occupational Therapy at No. 18, and Speech-Language Pathology at No. 28. Jason Turner, interim dean of the College of Health Sciences, emphasized the importance of the rankings in reflecting the success of their programs and the dedication of their faculty and staff.

Rush Medical College was noted for its movement into tier 2 in the research rankings category, recognizing its contributions to medical research.
