The Chicago Sky has announced a season-long celebration to mark the franchise's 20th anniversary. Established in 2005, the team began its inaugural season in 2006 as Chicago's first professional women's basketball team.
The celebration aims to honor the organization's history, players, partners, and fans through various activities including in-arena events, branding initiatives, merchandise offerings, fan activations, promotional content, community programs, and alumni events.
"In our 20th season, we’re thrilled to honor all of the players, coaches, executives, staff, partners and fans who have built this organization into a championship franchise with limitless growth opportunities ahead," said Adam Fox, CEO and President of the Chicago Sky. "We are grateful to the city of Chicago and all of Skytown for their special contributions to our legacy and look forward to celebrating with everyone this season."
To commemorate this milestone year, a new 20th-anniversary logo will be featured across on-court elements as well as in-arena displays and digital content. Fans can expect engaging contests and giveaways throughout the season. Additionally, select alumni and special guests will participate in various festivities.
The team's home opener is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. For updates on news and ticket information follow @chicagosky on social media or visit sky.wnba.com.
