Chicago Fire FC II will face New York City FC II in a crucial match on May 23, 2025, as part of Matchweek 11 of the MLS NEXT Pro regular season. The game marks Chicago's return from a bye week and follows their two-game winning streak. Recently, they secured victories against Orlando City B and FC Cincinnati 2, with key contributions from defender Jean Alpha Diouf and forward Jason Shokalook.

NYCFC II is also in strong form, having won their last two home games against New York Red Bulls II and Toronto FC II. Forward Seymour Reid has been instrumental for NYCFC II, scoring a hat trick against the Red Bulls.

Friday’s encounter will be the eighth meeting between Chicago Fire FC II and NYCFC II. Historically, NYCFC II has been challenging for Chicago, drawing or winning the last five meetings; however, they have only one victory at Belson Stadium.

Chicago Fire FC II demonstrates consistency with six players participating in every match this season. Key figures include goalkeeper Patrick Los and captain Diego Konincks. Both teams have showcased impressive offensive capabilities recently by scoring seven goals each over their last two matches.

Chicago leads MLS NEXT Pro with only nine yellow cards issued this year and maintains a disciplined approach with fewer fouls compared to other teams.

Forward Jason Shokalook is highlighted for his recent performances, having scored in consecutive matches. Drafted by Chicago Fire FC as the No. 35 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, Shokalook has quickly matched his previous season's goal tally.

The match at Belson Stadium in Queens kicks off at 3 p.m. CT and can be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com.
