Chicago Fire FC secured a 1-0 victory against the New York Red Bulls at Soldier Field on Saturday night. Forward Hugo Cuypers scored his 14th goal of the season, leading to goalkeeper Chris Brady's seventh win and second consecutive shutout.

The match began with Chicago aggressively taking eight shots in the first half. In the last five minutes of the half, Cuypers forced a handball in the Red Bull box, resulting in a penalty kick which he successfully converted. This gave Chicago a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, New York Red Bulls increased their offensive efforts but were unable to score due to Brady's three saves and Chicago's strong defense. This marked Chicago's second clean sheet victory in succession.

Chicago will next face Los Angeles FC at SeatGeek Stadium on August 9. The game will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and locally on wlsam.com and Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.

Hugo Cuypers now has five game-winning goals this season, tying him for third place in single-season game-winning goals for Chicago Fire FC. With his current tally of 14 goals this year, he is tied for fifth-most goals in a single season for the team. Goalkeeper Chris Brady achieved his third clean sheet of the season and recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2024.

Chicago has won its tenth game of the season with ten matches remaining. This is their first time reaching this mark since 2023 and only their third time since 2017 when they won 16 matches leading to a playoff appearance.
