The Chicago Sky will embark on a two-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks at crypto.com Arena on Sunday, May 25, at 3 p.m. PT. The Sky are currently looking to improve from an 0-2 start, while the Sparks aim to recover from their own early-season struggles with a record of 1-3.

Under new head coach Tyler Marsh, the Sky are working on establishing their offensive identity. Despite shooting percentages of 32.4% from the field and 31.5% from three-point range indicating room for improvement, the team has increased its focus on perimeter play by averaging 27 attempts per game from beyond the arc compared to last season's average of 14.9 attempts.

Los Angeles is also under new leadership with first-year coach Lynne Roberts. The team is coming off a recent loss to the Golden State Valkyries and seeks to end a three-game losing streak against Chicago.

Kelsey Plum has been a standout performer for the Sparks since being acquired in an offseason trade, contributing an average of 24 points and five assists per game. Dearica Hamby has also made significant contributions, scoring 25 points and securing six rebounds in their last outing.

A key matchup will be between Hamby and Angel Reese as both players are influential rebounders. Reese ranks seventh in defensive rebounds per game in the league (7), while Hamby follows closely at fourteenth (5.8).

The Sparks face challenges with player availability as Rickea Jackson remains sidelined due to concussion protocol, and Cameron Brink along with Rae Burrell continue their recovery from long-term injuries.

Historically, Chicago holds a challenging record against Los Angeles but has seen success recently by winning all three encounters last season. Both teams will strive for victory in this anticipated contest as they look to gain momentum moving forward.
