The Chicago Sky are set to face the Dallas Wings at Wintrust Arena on Thursday, May 29. This game marks the first encounter between the two teams this season and will feature rookie Paige Bueckers' debut in Chicago.

The Sky began their season with four consecutive losses but have shown progress with each game. In their last match, Ariel Atkins led Chicago with 21 points and aims to maintain her performance against Dallas, a team from her home state.

Dallas secured its first win of the season by defeating Connecticut earlier this week. The Wings hold a 1-4 record, with Bueckers leading in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per game along with 6.4 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. Arike Ogunbowale contributes an average of 13.8 points per game, while Maddy Siegrist and DiJonai Carrington each average just over ten points.

A key focus for the Sky will be addressing their defense against three-point shots. They currently rank last in the league by allowing opponents to shoot 45.1% from beyond the arc. In contrast, Dallas ranks seventh in three-point shooting accuracy at 33%.

Chicago has players capable of defending the perimeter effectively and demonstrated this ability during their recent game against Phoenix by limiting them to just four successful three-pointers out of twenty-two attempts in the first half before Phoenix's strong second-half performance.

Whether Dallas will adopt a similar strategy against Chicago remains uncertain.
