Chicago Fire FC II has been recognized as the MLS NEXT Pro Team of Matchweek 12. This accolade follows their decisive 5-0 victory over Columbus Crew 2 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
The match saw five different players from Chicago finding the back of the net. Defender Diego Konincks initiated the scoring with his first goal of the season, and defender Justin Reynolds followed with his second goal this year during the first half. Trip Fleming, Jean Alpha Diouf, and Jason Shokalook each contributed a goal in the second half to complete Chicago's scoring spree. Goalkeeper Patrick Los played a crucial role by making three saves, securing his second clean sheet of the season and earning his fifth win for Chicago.
This marks the second time in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season that Chicago Fire II has received this weekly honor. The team previously earned it on Matchweek 8 after defeating Orlando City B, another postseason opponent from 2024, in their inaugural match at Flames Field in Chicago. Notably, Reynolds, Diouf, and Shokalook also scored during that earlier victory against Orlando.
