Chicago Fire FC has announced the signing of forwards Vitaliy Hlyut and Jason Shokalook to short-term agreements. Both players will be available for the club's road match against D.C. United at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

The match will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, with local transmissions on wlsam.com in English and Que Buena 105.1 via the Uforia app in Spanish.

Vitaliy Hlyut, aged 17, signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract in March 2025. He became the first Chicago Fire Academy player to sign directly with Chicago Fire II, marking a significant step in the player development pathway from academy to professional levels. This season, he has appeared in nine matches for Chicago Fire II, starting seven times and recording two assists.

Jason Shokalook, aged 22, joined Chicago Fire II in February 2024 after being selected as the No. 35 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. The Pennsylvania native has played nine matches this season for Chicago Fire II, starting five times and scoring three goals while also registering two assists.

This marks the first short-term agreement for both Hlyut and Shokalook. According to MLS rules, clubs may sign players from their affiliates to a maximum of four short-term agreements each season, totaling up to sixteen days. Players can appear on up to four MLS regular-season match rosters but are limited to playing in no more than two regular-season matches under these agreements.
