Chicago Fire FC II secured a 2-2 draw against New England Revolution II at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. The match, initially delayed due to weather conditions, resumed the following day. Defender Jean Alpha Diouf and winger Claudio Cassano scored for Chicago, with midfielder Emir Herrera assisting in his MLS NEXT Pro debut.

New England started strong on Sunday afternoon, with Cristiano Oliveira setting up Gevork Diarbian for an assist to Judah Siqueira's opening goal. A weather delay halted play in the 21st minute. After resuming on Monday morning, Chicago capitalized on a corner kick when Cassano's cross was deflected by Trip Fleming to Diouf, who equalized just before halftime.

In the second half, New England regained the lead through Joshua Macedo after Marcos Dias' initial shot was saved by Chicago goalkeeper Patrick Los. Los later saved a penalty from Dias to keep Chicago within reach.

Herrera made an impact shortly after entering as a substitute by assisting Cassano's equalizer in the 78th minute. Both defenses held firm until full time.

The subsequent shootout extended into five rounds before New England goalkeeper Max Weinstein made a crucial save. Gabe Dahlin clinched victory for New England with his decisive shot.

Chicago Fire FC II will next face Carolina Core FC at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina. The match is scheduled for Saturday night and will be available globally via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
