Chicago Fire FC forward Tom Barlow has been recognized as the Major League Soccer Player of the Matchday for Matchday 18. This accolade follows his outstanding performance, scoring a hat trick in Chicago's 7-1 victory over D.C. United at Audi Field.

Barlow opened his scoring account with a goal in the 30th minute, assisted by Andrew Gutman. He added another goal in the 44th minute and completed his hat trick with a goal in the 65th minute. This marks Barlow's first multi-goal game since September 27, 2020, when he scored twice for New York Red Bulls.

This is Barlow's first time receiving this honor in his seven-year MLS career. The last Chicago Fire player to receive this recognition was Hugo Cuypers during Matchday 24 in 2024.

The Fire will return to Soldier Field on June 14 to host Nashville SC. The match will be part of a doubleheader co-hosted with Chicago Stars FC and will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV or listen locally on WLS 890 AM and Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App.
