The Chicago Sky faced a challenging match against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center, resulting in a 66-85 defeat on Tuesday. The Liberty's strong start included a 12-0 run before Elizabeth Williams scored for Chicago. Despite efforts to close the gap, including Kamilla Cardoso's late first-quarter points, the Sky struggled with turnovers, committing 15 in the first half.

Sabrina Ionescu was instrumental for New York, contributing 23 points, seven assists, and four steals. Angel Reese stood out for Chicago with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ariel Atkins added support with 11 points.

An important moment came when New York ended the third quarter with an 11-0 run, securing their lead despite being outscored by Chicago in the final quarter. Sky head coach Tyler Marsh acknowledged positives from the game: “It was good to see the energy on the bench continue to be positive and uplifting each other,” he said.

The Sky managed to out-rebound their opponents but were unable to overcome New York's defense and shooting efficiency. Breanna Stewart contributed significantly with 18 points for New York, which maintained its undefeated status at 9-0.

Chicago now stands at 2-6 overall and will seek improvement as they face Atlanta next on their road trip.
