Chicago Fire FC's Philip Zinckernagel has been selected for the 2025 MLS All-Star Roster, marking his first inclusion in the prestigious lineup. The announcement was made by Chicago Fire FC and Major League Soccer, with Zinckernagel chosen by All-Star head coach Nico Estévez.
Zinckernagel is the first player from Chicago Fire to be named to an All-Star roster since Kei Kamara in 2023. This year's MLS All-Star Game will see top players from North America competing against a team of LIGA MX All-Stars on July 23 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. The game will be broadcast live on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass.
The roster for the game was determined through a mix of fan, player, and media votes (12 players), selections by head coach Estévez (12 players), and two picks by MLS Commissioner Don Garber. Tickets are available at MLSsoccer.com/AllStar.
Since joining Chicago Fire on January 6, 2025, from Club Brugge of Belgium's Pro League, Zinckernagel has started all 15 games this season. He leads his team with seven goals and seven assists. Notably, he set a club record with goal contributions in seven consecutive away matches.
The Danish winger began his professional career in Denmark in 2013 and has played across several countries including Norway, Belgium, England, and Greece before joining the MLS.
The upcoming MLS All-Star events at Q2 Stadium will be accessible to viewers globally via Apple TV's MLS Season Pass. Fans can subscribe to this service for $69 or $59 if they are already Apple TV+ subscribers.
