ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 35: Hurley Invites Seniors to Valentine’s Day Ice Cream Social

Event

Illinois State House District 35 issued the following announcement on Feb. 13.

To bring local seniors together to celebrate Valentine’s Day, state Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, partnered with Alderman Matt O’Shea, D-Chicago, and Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, was inviting area residents 65 and older to a Valentine’s Day ice cream social.

“As we get older and our lives get busier it can be difficult to make new friends and form new relationships,” said Hurley. “The ice cream social is a great opportunity for older adults in our community to come together to meet and spend time with new friends and enjoy a delicious ice cream sundae.”

Local residents age 65 and older were invited to join Hurley for her Valentine’s Day ice cream social on Friday, Feb. 14 at 1:00 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street, located at 3359 W 115th St. in Merrionette Park. For a $5 admission fee, seniors got an ice cream sundae, popcorn, soft drinks and coffee, as well as a viewing of the 1959 film “Pillow Talk.”
