Chicago Fire FC is set to play its second consecutive away game, traveling south to face Inter Miami CF for the first time in the 2024 MLS regular season. The match, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT, will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass and locally on 890 WLS-AM (English) and WRTO 1200 AM (Spanish).

Head Coach Frank Klopas and his squad are aiming for a second straight road victory and their fifth win against Miami. Chicago currently holds a 4-1-1 record against Inter Miami, with the last three encounters resulting in victories for the Fire. In their most recent meeting, Chicago defeated Miami 4-1 at Soldier Field, where Xherdan Shaqiri and Maren Haile-Selassie each scored twice.

Inter Miami is also seeking a second consecutive victory after defeating Toronto FC at home last Wednesday.

Coach Klopas has made two changes to the lineup that won against FC Cincinnati on Wednesday night. Gastón Giménez makes his 10th start of the season and wears the captain’s armband for the fourth consecutive match in 2024. Brian Gutiérrez returns to the starting XI for his 20th start of the season after scoring his fifth goal of the season against Cincinnati.

Kellyn Acosta starts his 21st match of the season, while Hugo Cuypers starts his 25th game, making him the only player to start every game for Chicago this year. Cuypers leads the team with nine goals and two assists, contributing significantly in recent games.

Fabian Herbers starts his 20th game of the season and his 101st overall for Chicago. Maren Haile-Selassie starts for the ninth straight time this season. Rafael Czichos starts his sixth consecutive match, while Chris Brady starts for the 24th time this season after earning his fourth shutout against Cincinnati.

Wyatt Omsberg continues with his fifth straight start of the regular season. Allan Arigoni makes his 22nd start, and Arnaud Souquet begins his sixth consecutive match.

Several players are unavailable due to injuries: defenders Chase Gasper, Andrew Gutman, Carlos Terán; midfielders Federico Navarro (all leg injuries); and Xherdan Shaqiri (not due to injury). Available substitutes include goalkeeper Spencer Richey; defenders Jonathan Dean, Tobias Salquist, Justin Reynolds; defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda; midfielders Javier Casas Jr., Chris Mueller; forwards Tom Barlow and Georgios Koutsias.
